Application Notes

  • Improved Noise Performance of the ACF2101 Switched Integrator
PDF, 42 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
The signal-to-noise ratio and bandwidth of the combination of the ACF2101 dual, switched integrator and a low-level input current is exceptional when compared to the performance of a classical transimpedance amplifier. To further improve the ACF2101 signal-to-noise ratio, a resistor can be added in series with the input sensor.
  • The ACF2101 Used as a Bipolar Switched Integrator
PDF, 35 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
The ACF2101 is a dual, switched integrator that is typically used to convert a positive input current to a negative output voltage by integration, using an integration capacitor (CINT), either on the chip or an external capacitor provided by the user. Typical applications for the ACF2101 are photo diode integrators, current measurements, charge measurements, and a CT scanner front end.
  • Comparison of Noise Performance of FET Transimpedence Amp/Switched Integrator
PDF, 66 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
Low-input current FET operational amplifiers are universlly used to monitor photodetector, or more commonly photodiode currents. These photodetectors bridge the gap between a physical event, light, and electronics. There are a variey of amplifier configurations to select from and the choice is based on noise, bandwidth, offset, and linearity. A considerable amount has been written on the performan
