Infineon FX1763

Infineon releases FX1763(X) is a micropower, low-noise, low-dropout voltage regulator. The device is capable of supplying an output current of 500 mA with a dropout voltage of 300 mV. Low output noise is one of the standout features of IFX1763(X). An additional external 0.01 μF bypass capacitor drops the typical output noise to 20 μVRMS over a 10 Hz to 100 kHz bandwidth.

The IFX1763(X) voltage regulator is stable with output capacitors as small as 3.3 μF. Small ceramic capacitors can be used without the series resistance required by many other regulators. The internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting and reverse current protection. This device comes with fixed output voltages of 3.3 V and 5.0 V. It is also available as an adjustable device with a 1.22 V reference voltage. It is housed in a DSO-8 exposed pad.

This power supply solution is the perfect companion for the XMC4000 microcontroller family and is a welcome addition to Infineon’s all-round system solutions. The IFX1763 is pin-to-pin compatible with xx1763 competitor’devices, while offering better thermal performance in a DSO8 exposed pad package.
