ZMDI, a global semiconductor company, announces the ZSPM1509 True-Digital PWM Controller IC for powering networking, communication, and industrial applications

ZMD AG (ZMDI) announces the ZSPM1509 single-phase, true-digital pulse-width modulator (PWM) power controller optimized for powering next generation networking, communication and industrial equipment. It is pre-configured for a power stage output of 5.0 V and is capable of supporting loads up to 10 A.

ZMDI - ZSPM15xx

In many networking, communication, and industrial systems, there are embedded field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) or system-on-chips (SOCs). The FPGA or SOC typically requires multiple voltage rails to power up. With the introduction of the ZSPM1509 to the ZSPM15xx family, ZMDI has expanded the family to enable powering commonly used industry voltage rails from 0.85 V to 5.0 V. The ZSPM15xx family is optimized for ZMDI’s integrated MOSFET power stage DrMOS products to provide customers with high performance power solutions and fast time-to-market. ZMDI provides recommended bills-of-materials (BOMs) and printed circuit board (PCB) layout files to reduce external component cost and minimize the application footprint.

The ZSPM15xx family of digital controllers features a flexible design that allows users to easily select the over-current protection limit, output voltage rise time and control loop compensation via two external resistors to achieve the highest performance in their application.
