Introduction
Linear TechnologyвЂ™s next generation LTВ®1167 instrumentation ampliп¬Ѓer uses a single resistor to set gains
from 1 to 10,000. The single gain-set resistor eliminates
expensive resistor arrays and improves VOS and CMRR
performance. Careful attention to circuit design and
layout, combined with laser trimming, greatly enhances
the CMRR, PSRR, gain error and nonlinearity, maximizing application versatility. The CMRR is guaranteed to
be greater than 90dB when the LT1167вЂ™s gain is set at
1. Total input offset voltage (VOS) is less than 60ОјV at a
gain of 10. For gains in the range of 1 to 100, gain error
is less than 0.05%, making the gain-set resistor tolerance the dominant source of gain error. The LT1167вЂ™s
gain nonlinearity is unsurpassed when compared to
other monolithic solutions. It is speciп¬Ѓed at less than
40ppm when operating at a gain of 1000 while driving
a 2kО© load. The LT1167 is so robust that it can drive
600О© loads without a signiп¬Ѓcant linearity penalty. These
parametric improvements result in an overall gain error
that remains unchanged over the entire input common
mode range and is not degraded by supply perturbations

Introduction
Advancing the leading edge of high
speed, low power 12-bit serial ADCs
in SO-8, LTC introduces the LTC1401
and LTC1404. The LTC1401 is a single
3V supply, 200ksps 12-bit ADC. The
LTC1404 is a pin-to-pin compatible
upgrade of the existing LTC1400. It
samples at 600ksps on either single
5V or В±5V supplies. Both of these
devices are small in size but big in
features. They achieve speeds that
are far ahead of the pack. Once again,
LTC has rewritten the record for the
highest throughput per square area
of board space of any 12-bit ADC on
the market. Both devices satisfy
tomorrowвЂ™s digitally based signal-processing requirements while achieving
