Application Notes

  • Improved Voltage Reference Filter Has Several Advantages
PDF, 31 Kb, File published: Oct 2, 2000
The Burr-Brown REF102 is a buried-zener-based precision 10V reference. It has better stability and about five times lower output noise than band-gap-based voltage references such as the PMI REF-10. Still, its output noise is about 600uVp-p at a noise bandwidth of 1MHz (the output noise of the PMI REF-10 is about 3,000uVp-p at 1MHz).

The Burr-Brown REF102 is a buried-zener-based precision 10.0V reference.
  • Low Power Operation of REF102 10.0V Precision Voltage Reference
PDF, 36 Kb, File published: Oct 2, 2000
Two of the most important specifications for a voltage reference are noise and stability with time. The zener-based REF102 10.0V voltage reference has much better noise and stability than band-gap-based references.
  • The ACF2101 Used as a Bipolar Switched Integrator
PDF, 35 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
The ACF2101 is a dual, switched integrator that is typically used to convert a positive input current to a negative output voltage by integration, using an integration capacitor (CINT), either on the chip or an external capacitor provided by the user. Typical applications for the ACF2101 are photo diode integrators, current measurements, charge measurements, and a CT scanner front end.
  • Make A Precision Current Source or Current Sink
PDF, 26 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
The precision current source and sink are based on the new REF102 10.0V voltage reference. With 2.5ppm/В°C VOUT drift, and better than 5ppm/1000hrs long-term stability, this buried-zener-based voltage reference offers the best performance available from a single-chip voltage reference today. The REF200 uses a band-gap type reference to allow low-voltage two-terminal operation. This m
  • Make a Precision В± 10 V Reference
PDF, 37 Kb, File published: Oct 2, 2000
Many systems require the combination of both a positive and a negative precision 10.0V reference. ADI offers several hybrid В±10V references. Although Burr-Brown offers no В±10V reference at this time, we do have some simple two-chip solutions which are accurate and can be more cost effective.
  • Level Shifting Signals with Differential Amplifiers
PDF, 23 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
The INA105 is a unity gain differential amplifier consisting of a premium grade operational amplifier and an on-chip precision resistor network. The self-contained INA105 makes it ideal for many applications. One such application is precision level shifting.
