Application Notes
- MSP430 Interface to TPS60250 via I2C Master SoftwarePDF, 499 Kb, File published: May 1, 2008
The TPS60250 is a high-efficiency, constant-frequency charge pump dc/dc converter that can drive up to five white LEDs for a main display and up to two white LEDs for a subdisplay with regulated constant current for uniform intensity.A microcontroller (MCU) can be used to control the currents for white LEDs via the TPS60250 charge pump through a standard I2C interface, with the MCU acting as t - Ballast Resistor Calculation – Current Matching in Parallel LEDsPDF, 351 Kb, File published: Apr 16, 2009
Engineers often need to connect LEDs in parallel. Ideally, the LEDs share current equally. In reality, even LEDs from the same production lot have poorly matched I-V characteristics. This mismatch causes the LEDs to not share the current equally. The engineer can add a ballast resistor in series with each LED to minimize current differences. - Performing Accurate PFM Mode Efficiency Measurements (Rev. A)PDF, 418 Kb, Revision: A, File published: Dec 11, 2018
When performing measurements on DC-DC converters using pulse frequency modulation(PFM)or any power save mode proper care must be taken to ensure that the measurements are accurate. An accurate PFM mode efficiency measurement is critical for systems which require high efficiency at low loads such as in smart home systems tablets wearables and metering.
