Application Notes
- Isolation Amps Hike Accuracy and ReliabilityPDF, 94 Kb, File published: Oct 2, 2000
Fault tolerance, transient protection, and interference rejection are valuable features that isolation amplifiers bring to critical circuitry. Two useful examples of how designers can employ isolation amplifiers to improve their systems? performance and reliability are process temperature controllers and electrocardiogram (ECG) amplifiers. - IC Building Blocks Form Complete Isolated 4-20mA Current-LoopPDF, 72 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
Current loops have become the standard for signal transmission in the process control industry. Current loops are insensitive to noise and are immune to errors from line impedance. Adding isolation to the 4-20mA current loop protects system electronics from electrical noise and transients. It also allows transducers to be electrically separated by hundreds of volts. - Use Low-Impedance Bridges on 4-20mA Current LoopPDF, 27 Kb, File published: Sep 27, 2000
If you need more transducer excitation current than is available on a standard 4-20mA 2-wire current loop, consider a 3-wire transmitter. A 2-wire 4-20mA transmitter uses the same two wires for signal and power. Part of the 4mA minimum loop current is used to power the transmitter circuitry. The remaining current can be used for transducer excitation. In some applications even the entire 4mA is no - 20mA to 0-20mA Converter & Current Summing Current-to-Current ConvertersPDF, 57 Kb, File published: Oct 2, 2000
Current loops have become the standard for signal transmission in the process control industry. Current loops are insensitive to noise and are immune to errors from line impedance.
