Detailed Description

The CC2533DK-RF4CE-BA supports TI's second generation 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 compliant System-on-Chip, the CC2533, and contains all hardware, software, and tools necessary to evaluate, develop, test, and debug an RF4CE-compliant product. The CC2533DK-RF4CE-BA includes a simple form factor programmable remote control, a target module (receiver board) that interfaces to PC remote control emulation software via USB, and all debugging equipment and cables needed to use the kit for developing remote control and consumer electronics products. The CC2533DK-RF4CE-BA is designed to support development on TI's industry leading RF4CE-compliant software architecture, RemoTI. The RemoTI installer, available for free download from www.ti.com/RemoTI, comes with the core stack library, standard remote control sample application code, legacy IR generation sample code, a PC emulator tool, over the air download and serial boot loader demonstration code, an 802.15.4 packet sniffer, flash programmer, and more.

RF remote control
A complete cost optimized RF4CE remote control reference design with integrated PCB antenna. The remote control can be programmed using the debug interface.

Target Module
Interface board for connecting I/O signals to typical remote applications. The following interfaces are accessible:

CC2533EM
This is the CC2533 Evaluation Module (EM) with the RF IC reference design. Use the EM as reference design for antenna and RF layout. To be plugged into the Receiver module. The CC2533EM module includes both a no-cost PCB antenna and an SMA connector with external antenna. The antenna can be selected with a 0-ohm resistor. The PCB antenna is used by
default.

CC Debugger
USB Debug Interface for programming and debugging applications running on the remote control and target board. For programming the CC Debugger is used with the SmartRF flash programmer SW
For In-Circuit Emulator the CC Debugger is used with the IAR embedded workbench.

USB dongle
The USB dongle can be programmed to replace the functions of the Target Module. It supports virtual serial port interface and HID (Human Interface Device) USB profiles. It can also be programmed to be used as packet sniffer of RF activity.
