USB 3.0 PC-oscilloscopes are 'world's first'

Pico Technology PicoScope 3207A PicoScope 3207B

High bandwidths, sampling rates and a huge buffer memory, along with mixed–signal capability and the world’s first oscilloscopes with a USB 3.0 interface, give you class–leading performance at a price you can afford.

The first pc oscilloscopes to feature a usb 3.0 interface have been released by Pico Technology. Oscilloscopes in the PicoScope 3200 range offer the highest performance available from any USB–powered oscilloscope.

 Pico Technology: USB 3.0 - PicoScope 3207A и PicoScope 3207B

PicoScope computer oscilloscopes simply connect to the USB port on any standard Windows based computer, making full use of your PC’s processing capabilities, large screens and familiar graphical user interfaces. Whether you’re used to traditional benchtop oscilloscopes or modern PC oscilloscopes a PicoScope offers outstanding performance and ease of use.

The PicoScope 3207A and PicoScope 3207B are the world’s first PC oscilloscopes with a USB 3.0 interface. USB 3.0 offers a tenfold increase in theoretical transfer speeds over USB 2.0. USB 3.0 has immediate benefits: if your PC has a fast hard drive, the saving of large waveforms will be quicker, waveform updates will be quicker and another benefit is faster gap–free continuous streaming of data to the PC.

High bandwidth and high sampling rate

With bandwidths ranging from 60 to 250 MHz your PicoScope computer oscilloscope offers bandwidths previously unavailable in this price range.

The high bandwidth is complemented by a market–leading 1 GS/s real–time sampling rate (most USB–powered oscilloscopes have real–time sampling rates of only 100 or 200 MS/s). ETS mode boosts the maximum effective sampling rate further to 10 GS/s, giving you a more detailed display of repetitive signals.

A huge buffer memory

Other oscilloscopes have high maximum sampling rates, but without deep memory they cannot sustain these rates on long timebases.

Our high–performance two–channel oscilloscopes have buffer memories of up to 512 million samples — more than any other oscilloscope in this price range — so you can always sample at high rates regardless of the timebase.

Too much data to handle?

With impressive sampling rates, high bandwidths and large buffer memory you might be wondering how can you handle all the data that your PicoScope oscilloscope provides? Thanks to the power of PicoScope it isn’t a problem: our industry–leading zoom controls means you can see every last detail of your waveform with ease. And thanks to our segmented memory the old problem of seeing a glitch on the screen only for it to vanish before you stop the scope is no more — now each captured waveform is stored in the buffer so you can rewind and review up to 10,000 previous waveforms. If you don’t want to manually check 10,000 waveforms then use the power of the software to do it for you. Select one waveform that is in specification and then use the mask limit tools to scan through the rest, highlighting any that fail.

Mixed–signal capability

Along with two analog channels, Mixed–Signal Oscilloscope (MSO) models also have 16 digital inputs.

The digital inputs of your PicoScope 3200 MSO can be displayed individually or in arbitrary groups labeled with binary, decimal or hexadecimal values. A separate logic threshold from -5 V to +5 V can be defined for each 8–bit input port. The digital trigger can be activated by any bit pattern combined with an optional transition on any input. Advanced logic triggers can be set on either the analogue or digital input channels, or both to enable complex mixed–signal triggering.

With an MSO model PicoScope you can view both digital and analogue signals simultaneously.
