Holtek is delighted to announce the release of its new 2.4 GHz unidirectional RF ICs, the BC5161/BC5162, which include a fully integrated programmable encoder. The devices have RF characteristics which are fully compliant with ETSI/FCC specifications and have a transmission rate of 125/250/500 Kbps as well as a frequency hopping function. The devices are suitable for various wireless 2.4 GHz RF applications, such as fixed code/user defined code remote controllers, smart homes, etc.
The devices have an operating voltage ranging from 2.0 V to 3.6 V, a programmable transmitting power of up to +8 dBm and a standby current of 0.5 μA. The devices have an integrated programmable encoder, the coding format of which is compatible with the market RF 2.4 GHz proprietary IC packet format. A range of features including an integrated low power oscillator and timing auto-transmit function provide a high level of functional integration and stable transmission quality to ensure a minimum of development to market time.
Holtek provides a convenient range of tools, which can be used to setup the integrated One Time Programmable Memory of the BC5161 to implement a variety of parameter settings, such as for RF power emission, frequency, address, hopping format, etc, allowing the., allowing the BC5161 to work independently. The BC5162 can be controlled by the MCU using its I2C interface. The BC5161/BC5162 devices are supplied in both 8-pin SOP-EP and 16-pin QFN (3×3 mm2) small package types and meet with the industrial specification operating temperature of –40 °C~85 °C.
